A week ago we got to have family and close friends in the gym to test out the walls and get some early feedback. The feedback was invaluable (the walls feel TALL, and the routes are FUN!), but watching everyone connect and have fun in this space, that has been “in progress” for so long, was ✨priceless✨ It truly was a pinch me moment for the whole team and had us buzzing since and pushing harder to cross our t’s and dot our i’s so we can have ALL of you in here climbing with us. Construction update! 🚨 Yes- we are still under construction! We’re so grateful to be setting routes even while the rest of the gym is being built out. It’s definitely been a bit of a juggling act 😅 - we’ve moved the same box of holds more times than we can count just to make space. But every shuffle brings us closer to the gym being open, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Left! Right! Hand Cross! Feet Crossing! Eyes… crossing? Tyler taking us on an adventure with our first boulder route. By the end of the day, this wall had a whole new face, route after route transforming it into a full lineup. Many more puzzles to come!

It’s really happening—routesetting has begun! It almost doesn’t feel real. Once the @walltopia crew installed the mats it transformed this space from a commercial construction zone to a *climbing gym.* The climbing walls are now 100% finished and our setting team is quickly filling out the sport corridor with fun and beautiful routes that we are so excited to see you guys climb. Wow! Just like that, nearly 9,000 square feet of climbing walls are built! The crew from @Walltopia cranked these out faster than we could even get a video up 🤣 It took just under 25 days to raise these walls, but it represents four years of sweat, stoke, tears, and love. Our dream of bringing a world-class climbing gym to Maui has always been fueled by the vision of creating a special, tight-knit community space that is welcoming and inspiring. That vision has guided us to meticulously design and develop every angle of these walls, allowed us to overcome every obstacle over so many years, and problem solve construction challenges we never could have imagined. What a great day partnering with @malama_maui_nui and @pauwelabeverage out at Ukumehame for some much needed trash removal! A huge thank you to everyone that came out. We were floored when we saw how much there is left to do, especially since MMN has been crushing it and already removed so much. Unfortunately there was a lot of trash at the base of a historic heiau - fortunately we were able to remove much of it. Thank you Pauwela Beverage for supplying us with some beautifully crafted drinks that were a great pick me up and cool down after getting our hands dirty! Wednesday March 12th we’re partnering with Mālama Maui Nui and Pauwela Beverage Co. to help clean up the area in Ukumehame/Olowalu that’s been used as a dumping ground. Over 150 cars, lots of large appliances and other random trash has already been removed but there is still plenty that needs to go! Many hands make light work! It’s been 3 months since the catastrophic Maui wildfires of August 2023. Our hearts remain heavy feeling for all the lives lost, devastated, and irrevocably altered ❤️‍🩹 But our hearts are also filled with immense gratitude for all the people around the world who chose to rally together in an outpouring of compassion 🙏 When we issued a call to action and launched the Global Climbing Community Fund for Maui Fire Victims, we didn’t know what to expect 🤷‍♀️ Now, it’s clear the climbing community answered that call. We want to extend a massive shout out, MAHALO, and THANK YOU to everyone who helped us raise $15,000+ for the @hawaiicommunityfoundation MAUI STRONG Fund and spread global awareness about Maui’s disaster response needs. And it doesn’t end there — there are countless others that provided support outside of this fundraiser, including two of the largest outdoor and climbing equipment brands that we spoke with who were willing to create their own internal fundraisers and match all employee donations in significant amounts.
